Northern College is seeking a Job Consultant/Job Developer in our Timmins Employment Services department. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Additionally, bilingualism is an asset.

Reporting to the Manager, Employment Services, and Academic Upgrading, the successful candidate will deliver the Employment Option Programs in the College catchment area.
What you will be doing:
- Develop, monitor and adjust service plan and collaboration with clients;
- Provide on-going career direction to clients, make appropriate referrals to community services or other employment services as required;
- Conduct intake interviews to determine client eligibility and needs, assessments of clients’ eligibility for various employment programs by identifying and documenting clients’ skills, interests, abilities, barriers, educational background and work experience;
- Complete all appropriate file documentation which may include, for example, items such as: application form, service plan agreement, releases of information, and obtain necessary identification; and
- Research, develop and deliver workshops on topics as a result of the assessment process and the ongoing needs of the client.

What you will need to be considered:
- Two-year diploma in the field of Human Services or a relevant/related field. A diploma in Business may be considered; and
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in career and employment guidance and counselling, employment workshop delivery, or job placement.
