POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Cree Geomatics, the coordinator will provide overall leadership to the Climate Resiliency Project. The project goal is to develop community regional coastal climate adaptation plans that will increase climate resiliency for local Indigenous communities within James Bay and Hudson Bay. The project will build a regional network to facilitate sharing of adaptation information, technical expertise and experience, weaving together Indigenous Knowledge and western science. The incumbent will ensure that all aspects of a project are completed on time, within budget, and according to specificationsof the project.
REQUIREMENTS
- Post-Secondary in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrated experience on projects of a similar nature.
- Knowledge of Mushkegowuk history, traditional lands, and communities.
- Proven ability to set priorities, complete work and meet deadlines.
- Proven exceptional ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Experience in the practice of project management.
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience developing communications for diverse communities preferred.
- Willing to Travel
- Driver’s license required
- Able to speak Cree is a considerable asset
