Northern College is seeking a qualified professional to teach a variety of courses in the Diamond Drilling program. The successful incumbent will possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, leadership skills, effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and time management skills. A train the Trainer Certificate and previous teaching experience are an asset.

Reporting to the Manager of Community and Business Development, the successful candidate will create a positive teaching and learning environment, using a variety of strategies and materials in the multi-modal delivery of courses. They will be committed to student success, professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multicultural organization and ensure currency and relevance of teaching material and assessment techniques.
What you will need to be considered:
• Completion of secondary school education, or equivalent;
• Five (5) years of relevant experience, including
o Experience operating a diamond drill;
o Experience in a surface and underground drilling environment;
o Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues;
o Experience training/leading/supervising new employees; and
• Successful completion of the following modules is required
o U0669 Follow Surface Diamond Drill Induction Procedures;
o U0652 Work Safely in a Surface Diamond Drilling Environment;
o U0653 Operate Hand and Power Tools;
o U0668 Protect the Natural Environment; and
o U0670 Perform General Lock Out / Tag out on Prime Movers and Other relations Equipment.
