POSITION SUMMARY
The Bail Bed Program Worker will be responsible for ensuring that Indigenous people involved in the bail process receive safe and supportive services that work in collaboration with the Bail Verification and Supervision Program. The Worker should be familiar with release orders and will be monitoring adherence to bail conditions set out by the Court. The Indigenous Bail Bed Program Worker will assist with coordination of, and access to, essential support services that residents will benefit from during their time at the Indigenous Bail Bed Facility. This position involves working with residents in completion of daily responsibilities, which will include cleaning and cooking.
REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent in Social Justice Services and/or minimum of three (3) years of work in social or justice services environment.
- Knowledge of Bail Verification and Supervision Programs in Ontario, of provincial standards for bail verification and supervision, of all relevant legislation, regulations and court procedures governing bail.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work under minimal supervision within a team-oriented setting.
- Excellent case and file management skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Must possess strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
- A clear Vulnerable Sector (PVSC) Clearance will be a condition of employment.
- Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Training will be provided.
